OneLearning Academy began with a need, a prayer and a surprising answer. Today it serves families across Derby and the surrounding communities.
Our story
Two schools, one church, one vision
As OneChurch at Pleasantview grew, so did the number of young families asking the same question: where can our kids get a strong education rooted in faith? Church leaders began to pray, knowing full well they had no idea how to start a school.
God, it turned out, was already a step ahead. Two small schools, a full-time micro school and a hybrid homeschool, had been started by qualified educators and parents. Both loved Christian education. Both served families differently. And both needed a home.
Within about a year, OneChurch and those two schools came together as one. OneLearning Academy keeps the best of both: a Full-Time track and a Homeschool Enrichment track, under one roof and one mission.
Mission
OneLearning Academy is dedicated to partnering with families to provide Christ-centered, high quality education options that prepare students for life by nurturing them to think critically, live faithfully, and lead with compassion.
Vision
A generation of young people in Derby and beyond who know Christ, love learning, and use what God put in their hands to serve others.

Five commitments, two tracks
Our tracks keep different schedules, but they share the same heart.
Mastery, not seat time
Students move forward when they’ve truly learned a skill. Projects and portfolios show real growth, not just grades.
Multi-age classrooms
Older students lead, younger students stretch, and everyone learns to speak up for what they need.
Missions
The world will know we are disciples by our love. Students serve locally and globally, starting right here in Derby.
Family-centered
Parents are partners, not spectators. Volunteer, visit, serve alongside your child. Our doors are open.
